Waterford & Tramore Racecourse – August Racing Festival 2010

Description of entry

The four day festival runs from 12^th to 15^th of August (incorporating three evening meetings) and has everything a summer racing festival should have; sun (usually), style, spectacular racing and great entertainment.  It offers a great opportunity to take a racing holiday because of the great amenities on your doorstep in Tramore, one of Ireland’s premier seaside resorts.

Thursday 12^th (E) The first of seven races kicks off at 5.15pm whilst the feature event in the marquee is the BBQ and the craic continues late into the evening with live music from Darktown Strutters.  First Race 5.15pm

Friday 13^th (E) The theme of this National Hunt Evening is ‘Beginners to Racing’ featuring behind the scenes tour, tipsters, and parade ring interviews.  The Festival BBQ takes place in the marquee and the evening finishes with live music from Liam O Maonlai.  First Race 5.15pm

Saturday 14^th (E) Littlewoods Ireland Style Evening.  The search is on to find the most stylish race goer.  Maura Derrane of RTE’s The Afternoon show will be judging the style and glamour.  Music after racing will be by the number one album seller Cathy Davey.  First Race 5.15pm

Sunday 15^th A National Hunt race day dedicated to the kids!  Goracing.ie Kids Club featuring racing themed activities from Front Runners, special kids race cards, meet the jockeys, bouncy castles, face painting etc.  The festival finishes with live music from John Spillane.  First Race 2.35pm.
